PATIERIDIS, Giorgos, STAMATIS, Kostas
The Album includes engravings from the late 15th to the 19th century. The engravings depict the city of Thessaloniki and is surrounding area, and come from the collections of G. Patieridis and K. Stamatis. Material has been classified into categories according to subject: Maps and port indexes, Views of the city from the sea, Costumes, Monuments and architectural drawings of churches, Significant events, Eminent personalities of the city and Scenes from everyday life. The majority of the engravings comes from travel accounts, while others had been published in journals and reviews, mainly of the 19th century. The “Album” includes the largest known collection of engravings related to Thessaloniki, its monuments and human types during these four centuries.
